Ventura Pranas turns 9 – a note from our Director, Prabha Srinivasan.

Ventura Pranas turned 9 last week. A few years ago it seemed like it was just yesterday that we founded the company, but 9 years is long enough to say that my work at Ventura Pranas is a big part of who I am today. It feels good to have persevered. What might have appeared to be insurmountable problems in the first years do not seem so daunting anymore- perhaps because we have great counsel from our advisory board that keeps us grounded and opens our eyes to signs that could blow up if left neglected.

We have grown as a team – both in terms of strength in numbers as well as strength in collective knowledge. We have grown from a tax-centric firm to a full-service firm and our team members reap the benefits of our phantom stock ownership plan. We have successfully acquired and integrated two practices in Seattle and Los Angeles.

My biggest struggle this past year was not being able to see my team members. They have been voices behind their initials on Microsoft Teams (if you know what I mean). I am longing to spend time in person with them.

We have all stuck it out together through this year. While Covid has not dealt us the harsh hand it has to some business, we have not been spared of some reductions in revenues from some sources. We have been fortunate that the drops have more than been made up for on other fronts. I am grateful to our clients without whom we would not be in business, to my team for their unflinching support, to my family for their tolerance towards discussions that only revolved around work at dinner tables, and to our Advisory Board members and friends who have supported and counseled us through the years. For our 10th anniversary I definitely want a celebration that involves meeting in person and spending quality time with the team.
